Point32Health to be official sponsor of the Boston Marathon & B.A.A.

It’s arguably the most iconic marathon in the sport of running and is a cultural icon throughout New England for runners and non-runners alike. And as we are quickly approaching the 127th running of the Boston Marathon, we are excited to share that Point32Health has become the official health insurance provider of the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) and sponsor of the B.A.A. medley races, including the Boston Marathon, the B.A.A. 10K and B.A.A. Half Marathon. Point32Health will also be the presenting sponsor of the B.A.A. 5K. This exciting kick off to marathon weekend is Saturday, April 15, One Boston Day.

As a sponsor, Point32Health and our go-to-market brands Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan will be front and center at one of the most exciting sporting events of the year. Throughout Marathon weekend (April 14-17, 2023) we will participate in several events that will offer innovative and interactive opportunities for us to build awareness of our parent brand and promote our health and wellbeing initiatives.

Why the Boston Marathon?

Running – and fitness activities as a whole – have proven benefits for both physical and mental health. And as an organization that believes achieving a healthier life starts by supporting whole person health through comprehensive care, programs, and services, aligning Point32Health with the B.A.A. and the Boston Marathon is a natural fit. Through this new partnership, we will have more opportunity to promote and work on initiatives that align with our mission to promote health and wellbeing in our region and give back to our local communities.

Through our partnership with the B.A.A., we will also join them and other partners in supporting and advancing equitable health and wellbeing initiatives in local neighborhoods through  the Neighborhood Fitness Series presented by Boston Children’s Hospital. The goal of this program is to promote running and road racing in areas in the City of Boston where running isn’t typically as popular. The Neighborhood Fitness Series events are held throughout the year and feature run/walk events for athletes of all ages and running abilities.
