Reminder: Psychological testing and TMS

To avoid delays, we are reminding providers to complete and attach the relevant Psychological and Neuropsychological Assessment and/or Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation form(s) when initiating prior authorization requests to perform these services for patients.

We encourage providers to request prior authorization through the HPHConnect  and Tufts Health Plan secure portals.

However, you may fax requests and accompanying documents for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care members to 800-232-0816. Fax numbers for Tufts Health Plan prior authorization requests vary by plan and can be found—along with coverage criteria details—within the Psychological Testing and Assessment, Neuropsychological Testing and Assessment, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) Medical Necessity Guidelines. Please note that prior authorization for rTMS is not required for members of the Tufts OneCare Plan (formerly called Tufts Health Unify).
